About the Role
The Corporate Development & Investor Relations Team is at the heart of GoTo's strategy formulation, capital raising, acquisitions, investments, and investor relations. The work we do creates leverage for our business teams to capture opportunities and establish their competitive edge, all whilst protecting the interests of GoTo and our stakeholders. You will have a front-row seat to some of the most important decisions of the organization from a corporate development standpoint and will be exposed to myriad situations, not just in corporate finance, but also in structuring, partnerships, investor management, and more.
What You Will Do
- Provide financial and strategic analysis, including financial models and valuation analyses, to guide major decisions related to the Company’s funding and capital markets strategy, M&A, investment opportunities, and strategic partnerships
- Conduct in-depth research on industry, competition, and capital market intelligence to assess trends, risks and opportunities for business operations
- Be a thought partner to business teams on strategy development, identifying strategic gaps, and evaluating build, buy, or partner options
- Lead and manage deals end-to-end, including strategy development, deal negotiation & structuring, due diligence, and coordinating with finance, legal, tax, and other departments to ensure seamless deal execution
- Maintain connectivity with strategic investment portfolio companies, and prospective targets/partners, and build relationships/engagement plans with buy-side and sell-side as part of investor relations
- Prepare regular and ad-hoc management reporting, earnings releases, investor presentations, and other requisite investor or regulatory reporting needs.
What You Will Need
- At least 6 years of work experience in private equity, investment banking, management consulting, corporate development, and/or related experience
- Good grasp of accounting, finance, and legal/tax considerations in M&A and corporate finance
- Sensitivity to changing market sentiments, macroeconomic environment, and trends in capital markets
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Works well under pressure to achieve tight timelines while producing high-quality outputs
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask
- Ability to manage confidential and highly sensitive information with the highest levels of discretion and professionalism
- Strong communications and collaboration skills
About the Team
Spread across Jakarta and Singapore, the Corporate Development & Investor Relations team hails from several geographies and, together, forms a like-minded team of ex-investment bankers, consultants, advisory professionals, and more. We oversee all things related to corporate needs and work to drive initiatives to capture opportunities and enforce GoTo's competitive advantage, all whilst protecting the interests of GoTo and our stakeholders. It’s our job to ensure that GoTo's strategy formulation, capital raising, acquisitions, investments, and investor relations runs seamlessly.
The Corporate Development team is one of the most active in the region, having recently completed the listing of GoTo on the Indonesian Stock Exchange, Gojek x Tokopedia merger, acquisition of Moka, investment into Bank Jago, and LinkAja, and sale of Thailand business to AirAsia. We have also formed numerous JVs and partnerships with strategics including Google, Alfamart, and Bluebird, amongst others.
Working during COVID has been a strange time for a lot of us, so our team has been taking time on our calls to trade advice on the best ways to keep sane with this new work setup. We're a very close team made up of bookworms, gamers, coffee drinkers, and Netflix watchers. We look out for one another and work together to get the job done.
