Responsibilities for visitor services manager
- Process Memberships, ticket sales, and visitor feedback via front desk desktops and mobile devices
- Track ticketed exhibition entry while monitoring building occupancy numbers
- Receive and respond to phone inquiries
- Greet and orient incoming tour groups
- Evaluate employee performances
- Operating the Museum Stores and Visitor Service Desk
- Maintaining retail-related web pages and Inventory Management
- Providing service to museum visitors, a continuation of the museum experience and generate earned income for the museum
- Providing assistance and information to museum visitors
- Welcoming ambassadors to our institution and generating earned income for the museum
- Able to manage and organize large groups of people, especially students
- Experience in a non-profit institution, particularly a museum visitor services department, and knowledge of a second language a plus
- Ability to understand the museum’s mission and activities policies and procedures and effectively provide related talking points to visitor services staff
- Successful experience working with diverse audiences (age, abilities, cultures )
- Bachelor’s degree, ideally in arts, culture, education, hospitality or closely related field, graduate degree a plus
- Minimum of 2 years experience in education, arts or cultural institution, or hospitality settings
