Senior Legal Counsel

We are looking for a Senior General Counsel to join our team. 

The role is based out of Indonesia but you will be working with the regional team for corporate and compliance matters.

Your day to day:

• Set up new companies, starting from registering and obtaining licenses. 
• Obtain licenses for various businesses and products of the Company. 
• Set up policies and procedures for day to day operations of the Company, including contract management. 
• Give accurate and timely counsel to executives in a variety of legal topics, such as labor law, Commercial, eCommerce partnerships, international ventures 
• Work with the regional legal team on corporate compliance across the region.  
• Specify internal governance policies and regularly monitor compliance 
• Research and evaluate different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations 
• Apply effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advice on possible legal issues 
• Communicate and negotiate with external parties (regulators, external counsel, public authority etc.), creating relations of trust
• Draft and finalize agreements, contracts, and other legal documents to ensure the company’s full legal rights 
• Advise stakeholders on external agreement/ contracts to prevent all risks and negotiate with partners to drive good understanding with all related parties 
• Handle corporate matters such as Shareholder meetings, BOD meetings, Minutes, Shareholders agreements, Corporate Structures, Corporate Governance, etc. 
• Day to day reporting and handling of government regulatories. 
• Build compliance management structures to protect the company from any potential risks. 
• Deal with complex matters with multiple stakeholders and forces 
• Provide clarification on legal language or specifications to everyone in the organization 
• Conduct your work with integrity and responsibility 
• Maintain current knowledge of alterations in legislation 
  

Your Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree majoring in Law; Master degree would be an added advantage
• Between 3-5  or more year experience as Legal Manager in retail business handling corporate, litigation, as well as license & compliance, including foreign investment, property, importation, and trade;
• Having good relations with the government, notary, lawyer, and other third parties;
• Holding advocate licence (PERADI) would be an added advantage.
• Having ability to work in a fast-paced organization and within tight deadlines and having a strong business acumen;
• Having good interpersonal skill and able to work either in a team or individually;
• Initiative, self-driven, business understanding and awareness;
• Outstanding communication skills with excellence command of English
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures
• Full comprehension of the influences of the external environment of a corporation
• Demonstrated ability to create legal defensive or proactive strategies
• High degree of professional ethics and integrity
• Sound judgment and ability to analyze situations and information
