About the role
Provide leadership and strategy for a sea freight operations team to promote growth within the company, through realising current and future business opportunities.
What you will be doing
- Lead and overseeing of all day-to-day operations within the department to ensure that the services being provided are organized and in accordance to the local legislation and operations is running in smooth manner.
- Liaise with Customs, Port Authorities and Shipping Lines as and where necessary to ensure that all rules and regulations are being followed properly.
- Monitoring and reporting of key performance parameters to ensure department is running as efficiently as possible with budget planning, people and equipment resources planning, people development and training.
- Ability to Identify business & process improvement opportunities, and provide recommendations. Running of the ocean department.
- Involvement with Post-Sales activities and engage to validate Major RFQs
Specific Activities
- Carrying out any other request made by their manager.
The successful candidate
Technical
- Have minimum 7 years of relevant experience and preferably, with P&L functionality
- Must have experience with staff management functionality.
- Minimum Diploma preferably related to Logistics, and/or Marketing’s discipline
- Familiar with Trade Regulatory requirements
- Good contact with major Carriers and cargo transport/hauliers service providers.
- Familiar with major trade lane business/competition environments
- Familiar with Cargowise, ISO or Quality related Business Practices.
Behavioural

- Fluent in English + local language
