The Cross Border Process Improvement Manager is responsible for the review, risk identification and risk mitigation of internal operations, commercial and finance processes. This is a new function within the Cross Border Business Operations team responsible for independent and objective review of our internal processes and internal controls and optimise internal inefficiencies. The incumbent is expected to perform process reviews inter and intra business units, design, document and execute policies & procedures. He/She should be able to drive cross-functional initiatives/projects to drive long term business sustainability. There are two scopes: Commercial and Logistics

As part of a small and dynamic team that is responsible for the success of Cross Border, the incumbent will have a very direct impact on the success of the company. He/she will work closely with members of our Cross Border Solutions, Cross Border Control Tower,  Business Intelligence, Finance, Operations, and various customer facing Sales teams across Ninja Van’s six countries in Southeast Asia.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, execute and continually monitor Business Continuity Plan and Framework and Risk Management Framework
  • Define key processes for the BU and ensure that a governance model is in place for all the strategic projects, ensuring regional consistency across countries
  • Perform periodic internal process reviews for the identification of process gaps, lapses and enhancements
  • Work with department heads from the Cross Border Logistics, Commercial, Special Projects and Finance Teams to recommend solutions/action plans for process inefficiencies
  • Responsible for monitoring execution and ensuring follow through on action plans
  • Support the department heads in establishing the mission, vision and goals to align with business and operational objectives
  • Deliverables include preparation of biannual risk rating report based on internal process reviews and provide recommendations to the business head accordingly, presentation to department heads of the problems and recommendations on action plans, contextualising action plans and coming up with regional-level templates and solutions to solve them
  • Drive implementation and adoption of new systems and products and enforce deprecation of manual processes/tools
  • Lead/support continuous improvement efforts for processes, tools, metrics and trainings based on process metrics and feedback from stakeholders
  • While the scope would be largely regional-level (as most of the functions are aggregated regionally) but also include in-country recommendations, stakeholder management and guidance of in-country operations folks. Projects can be cross-functional

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Operations
  • 4-6 years of work experience in a business improvement, business operations, consulting or internal audit role
  • Working knowledge of MS Office
  • Exceptional communication skills

  • Plus Points: 
  • Demonstrated experience in executing complex multi-stakeholder projects
  • Previous experience in a fast paced startup environment
  • Exposure to working across geographies, teams and individuals of different cultures
  • Experience with SQL or any other data management/aggregation language
  • Advantageous if the candidate has experience in auditing company dealing with audits in logistics companies
