About the Role

As our Business Intelligence Analyst for the Merchant Platform, you’ll collaborate with other cross-functional teams (Product Managers, Business Strategist, Marketing, Research, and Data Science) to find useful business insights within a large amount of data. You’ll assist these teams in setting up success metrics for particular products/features, optimize existing services and systems, and ensure data quality and source of truth availability.

On a daily basis, you’ll process data streams to produce data foundation, analytical dashboards, and product / feature trackers. Here, you'll get a front row seat in understanding how one of the largest Asian SuperApps makes use of its data. Your efforts will help remove highly-complex analytical blockers presented to the team, and contribute to the overall expansion and efficiency of Gojek's Merchant platform. 


What You Will Do

  • Act as a thought partner/collaborate with cross functional stakeholders in helping the team set the success metrics for particular products/features, optimize existing services and systems, and ensure data quality and source of truth availability
  • Drive data-driven decision making and practices within the cross-functional team through strong project management practices 
  • Independently execute root cause analysis to solve the issues impacting product or feature roll-out to serve our merchants-partners better
  • Continuously improve and govern the foundational data context that supports the end-to-end product through enforcing strong data management practices and challenging the system development and business process which negatively impacts the trust to our data context; develop or establish the policy to govern internal stakeholders when required
  • Develop required self-serving analytics tools (i.e. data mart, dashboard, tracker) with proper data modelling to democratize data for our stakeholders; establish required data acquisition and pipeline to build the self-serving analytics tools by driving product and data warehouse counterparts
  • Evaluate product experiments and measure the impact to our North Star metric (e.g. proactively suggest A/B tests or experimentations for product features and evaluate the impact on whether to increase the exposure or to stop the experiment)

What You Will Need

  • At least 4 years of experience in Business Intelligence / Product Analytics / System or Business Analyst (within these industries is a plus: B2B, tech consultancy, or in a hyper-growth tech company)
  • Experience in master data management and data migration best-practices are a must
  • Excellent problem-solving and process thinking skills 
  • Well-versed with SQL (primarily analytics function) and Python for analysis in cloud environments (Google Bigquery)
  • Good understanding and experience in data modelling, ETL, data visualization and reporting tools (eg. Tableau / Metabase / Google Data Studio)
  • Comfortable using statistical/mathematical approaches to solve analytical problems
  • Experience with Clevertap / Google Analytics is a big plus
About the Team

The Merchant Platform team is a big group of over 50 team members based across Singapore and Indonesia. The gist of our role is to create an ecosystem of solutions to support our merchant-partners on the Gojek platform better manage and grow their business, while enabling both internal and external product stakeholders to develop merchant-based solutions in a sustainable manner.

Our merchant-partners are one of the core stakeholders in our Gojek ecosystem; they’re involved in various offerings such as food delivery, offline payment acceptance, POS, financial services, deals, and promotions. As the Merchant Platform team, we work closely with our merchant-partners to understand their daily needs and concerns, and relay these insights to our internal product stakeholders to build platforms and interfaces on our mobile apps that ensure our merchant-partners’ success on the Gojek platform. Should you have a question about how to run processes in the development of merchant-partner products, we are your people! Currently, our team has been specifically hard at work tackling issues within the engineering arena to enhance the experience our merchant-partners have utilizing our platform and services. We aim to establish Gojek as the most trusted partner for all our merchant-partners.
