About the Role
As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will be working with the Business and product team on supporting analytics and data products (automated dashboards, reports, alerts, and simulation tools) which will create business impact at scale! You would be helping GoPay at a level of detail that enables the stakeholders to identify and address critical issues and align deliverables according to the Team’s priorities and requirements.
As Merchant Payment Business Intelligence Analyst, you’ll collaborate with other cross-functional teams (Product Managers, Business Strategists, Marketing, Research, Operations, Data Warehouse, etc.) to find useful business insights amongst our data ocean. You’ll assist these teams in setting up success metrics for particular products/features, optimize existing services/systems/flows, and ensure data quality and source of truth availability.
On a daily basis, you’ll process data streams to produce data foundation, analytical dashboards, product / feature trackers, and various analysis. Here, you'll get a front-row seat to understand how one of the largest Asian SuperApps makes use of its data. Your efforts will help remove highly-complex analytical blockers presented to the team and contribute to the overall expansion and efficiency of Gojek's Merchant platform
What You Will Do
- Act as a thought partner/collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders in helping the team set the success metrics for particular products/features, optimize existing services and systems, and ensure data quality and source of truth availability
- Drive data-driven decision making and practices within the cross-functional team through strong project management practices Independently execute root cause analysis to solve the issues impacting product or feature roll-out to serve our merchants-partners better
- Develop required self-serving analytics tools (i.e. data mart, dashboard, tracker) with proper data modeling to democratize data for our stakeholders; establish required data acquisition and pipeline to build the self-serving analytics tools by driving product and data warehouse counterparts
- Evaluate product experiments and measure the impact on our North Star metric (e.g. proactively suggest A/B tests or experimentations for product features and evaluate the impact on whether to increase the exposure or to stop the experiment)
- Build an alert system to notify early if there is any unusual transaction data or merchant behavior
What You Will Need
- Have at least a Bachelor's degree in computer science/information science, engineering, statistics, business, management, accounting, and other related fields
- At least 4 years of experience in analyst or business intelligence or data science field
- Excellent problem-solving and process thinking skills
- Well-versed with SQL (primarily analytics function) and Python for analysis in cloud environments (Google Bigquery)
- Good understanding and experience in data modeling, ETL, data visualization, and reporting tools (eg. Tableau / Metabase / Google Data Studio)
- Excellent analytical skills using statistical/mathematical approaches to solve business problems topped with strong communication and presentation capabilities in order to share recommendations

About the Team
We may be small but we are kickass! Our super team of 4 BI analysts supplies data and insights that fuel GTF innovations and evolutions. How does one achieve this, you may ask? Through our data products (automated dashboards, reports, alerts, and reliable data foundation) and continuous collaboration with the folks in the business, product teams and many others. We are in charge of creating foundational merchant segmentations, designing automation processes for performance tracking, and providing regular reports to the leadership team. Anything data-related within online and offline merchant payments, merchant experience, or risk and fraud for our merchants-partners is what our team is concerned about.
We oversee all things to give stakeholders valuable insights in decision making and actively grow to be a word-class team who can be the consultant to the business with complete skill sets in technical and business aspects. It's our job to ensure that our online and offline merchants can accept multiple payment types, exclusively for GoPay runs seamlessly. One of the biggest challenges we had to face is to make all our works to be fully-automated which can reduce the number of manual work of doing data requests. We eventually resolved it by creating several automation tools and enhancing our workflow and procedures with the help of good project management planning. Currently, we're busy at work on various projects, including one about helping the company to reach its north star metrics by using our data products
But despite how hardworking we may seem, we do know how to have fun, too. As a matter of fact, during the internal survey, we are one of the most productive yet the most happiest team in data.
