The role will report into the Group, Head of Procurement and indirect reporting to Singapore Country Head.

Majority of the responsibilities will include:
- Contract negotiation and issuance of PO for Singapore purchases
- Strategic/ tactical sourcing, market trending and tender management within the Singapore Office
- Support regional supply management topic to ensure supply continuity
- Supplier relationship and performance evaluation management
- Deliver targeted savings within Singapore while ensuring no adverse impact on quality and time requirements

Candidate will have to manage the Singapore requests while being stationed in Malaysia. To overcome the distance, the Regional team members who are stationed in Singapore will provide support if needed.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and raise purchase orders within the SG office.
  • Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery or invoice issues
  • Develop strong relationship and build trust with key stakeholders in businesses to understand business needs and operational requirements
  • Adhere to any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of self, staff and visitors
  • Ensure compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures during supplier negotiations and contracts award process.
  • Source and purchase goods, materials, components or services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets for Singapore
  • To support procurement projects and sourcing strategies by working closely with requesting entities to get the operational/service requirements/product specifications and planning out the project deadlines
  • To draft and prepare tender materials such as RFQ tables, vendor communication emails and cost analysis table
  • Monitoring spending patterns. Identify, initiate and execute on opportunities for cost savings from bulk purchasing
  • Negotiate Singapore contracts, improve prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to achieve business savings, utilizing negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods
  • Assist with implementation and execution of procurement strategies and cost saving projects in Singapore
  • With the support of the Regional Procurement team, track and report of Singapore saving initiatives.
  • Support relevant departments and communicate any supply problems which may impact on business operations
  • Monitor and advise on any issues which present risk or opportunity to the Organization
  • Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships in a professional and consistent approach
  • Compile data relating to supplier performance to enable evaluation with stakeholders

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in country sourcing and buying.
  • Degree in Purchasing/supply chain management/business studies
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Background in Logistics related purchases will be an advantage
  • Ability to work closely and develop strong relationship and build trust with key stakeholders in businesses to understand business needs and operational requirements
  • Experienced in sustainability initiatives and execution, especially in packaging materials and fleet management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and G- suite especially in excel / google sheet
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills - written and verbal, and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiar and comfortable with using ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite / SAP)
