As a Sustainability Intern, you will support the execution of Funding Societies' regional Impact and Sustainability initiatives across five Southeast Asian markets. This role is suited for a resourceful intern/graduate who thrives in managing multiple workstreams, from SME engagement and ESG data management to event coordination and content development. You will gain hands-on exposure to green finance, ESG governance, and sustainability strategy in Southeast Asia's largest SME digital financing platform.
What you will do:
1. SME Engagement & Outreach
- Manage the distribution and tracking of sustainability resources to SMEs
- Assist our sustainability associate to coordinate with external partners on outreach logistics and programme delivery
- Support the development of structured interviews with SMEs and draft case study write-ups for publication
2. ESG Data Management & Investor Reporting
- Support the maintenance the ESG metrics database and data collection efforts
- Support responses to investor ESG questionnaires within agreed timelines
- Compile data inputs for sustainability disclosures and reporting frameworks (e.g., UNGC Communication on Progress)
3. Events & Communications
- Support end-to-end event planning and logistics for report launches and industry engagements
- Draft social media content to amplify thought leadership and sustainability initiatives
5. Research & Analysis
- Monitor policy developments and news updates relevant to green finance and ESG across Southeast Asia
- Conduct research on the latest sustainability practices in fintech and SME lending
- Follow industry trends and conduct research on key sustainability topics
6. Ad-hoc Projects
- Work on ad hoc projects related to ESG and Sustainability from time to time, as priorities evolve
- Recent graduate or final-year student with degrees in business, economics, management, sustainability, finance, communications
- Minimum 6-month commitment, starting May 2026
- Able to communicate (reading and writing) proficiently in English (Bahasa Indonesia proficiency is a plus)
- Proficiency in Google Workspace (G-doc, G-sheet, G-slide) and Microsoft Office
- Comfortable using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) to enhance productivity and quality of work
- Structured, organised, and detail-oriented - able to manage multiple workstreams and meet deadlines independently
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesise information and present it clearly
- Excellent communication skills to present more complex terms and concepts in simple terms
- The ability to work independently and stay motivated in a fast-moving and dynamic startup environment
- Based in Indonesia or able to work Indonesia hours (9AM – 6PM WIB)

You will shine in this role if you have:
- Prior internship or project experience in sustainability, ESG, CSR, or impact-related work
- Understanding of ESG frameworks and standards (e.g., UN SDGs, UNGC, GRI, SASB)
- Awareness of the sustainability, climate, and social impact landscape in Southeast Asia
- Data analysis capabilities (pivot tables, dashboards, basic visualisation)
- Event coordination or project management experience
- Experience or exposure to financial services or fintech
- A good understanding of ESG topics and their impact on an organisation from a strategic and operational perspective, especially for SMEs
This internship comes with a gross monthly allowance of IDR 3,500,000.
