About the role:
We are a data driven company - we take pride in being hypothesis driven; we measure the number of concurrent experiments we run and use experimental results to make product and business decisions. Our experimentation platform, Litmus, has made it possible to run targeted experiments on-demand to guide our super app, driver app product experience and business decisions. We are now in the process of evolving it to the next level through automation at scale, statistical sophistication, reducing experiment rollout time by enabling new methods like A/A Tests, CUPED and building decision ready analytics systems. In this role as our Software Engineer for the Experimentation Team, you will be handed the reins to build A/B tests analytical metric intelligent experimentation platform for Gojek. You will be in charge of automating scalable & intelligent business metric attribution systems, evolving architecture to ingest, pre-aggregate billions of clickstream events, provide real time querying capabilities scanning billions of rows. Working closely with backend engineers, data engineers and data scientists, you will get to contribute to the system that runs meaningful experiments for Gojek. The cherry on top: you’ll get to be a part of a team that works to provide APIs for Gojek millions of users and driver partners to use.
What You Will Do
- Write bug-free code, design, prototype and deploy to production in the process of building highly scalable, reliable, and fault-tolerant systems for running massive A/B Tests and related analytics for Gojek
- Communicate and collaborate within the team and with product, data science teams effectively
- Implement the architecture, functional, non-functional, and design requirements for your vertical
- Be enthusiastic and committed to refactor applications and architectures to maintain high-quality levels
- Be actively involved in discussing solutions to problems
- Continue to stay abreast of the latest technologies in Experimentation and Big Data space to inform/suggest new technologies and best practices to trial
- Work together with senior engineers to innovate new ways of reducing experimentation time
What You Will Need
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience in designing, developing, testing, and deploying large scale applications, microservices in any language or stack (preferably Golang, Clojure)
- Strong understanding in either of HTTP or gRPC protocol and serialization formats like Protobuf
- Experiencing doing code reviews
- Experience in working with relational databases (like postgres)
- Experience in one or more of these areas: Cloud, Big Data, NoSQL stores; we use Google Cloud, Kubernetes extensively while our primary languages are Golang
- Experience in containerization technologies like Docker, Kubernetes
- Experience deploying applications using CI/CD pipelines
- Passion for learning new things and solving complex engineering blockers

- Experience working in A/B test platform, CUPED, A/A Tests, metric framework
