About the Role and the Team
The payment service team is responsible for developing and maintaining the payments infrastructure for the Fazz Financial Group. You will be part of the Fund Management team that is working on our transaction integrity system. This team is responsible for scaling our ledger as a service system.
At its core, the team is responsible for building the foundational layer that other teams would rely upon. You will have the opportunity to work on challenging technical problems and be exposed to fault-tolerant systems. This is a dynamic role, and while the goals and metrics will be clear, achieving the goals will require skill, leadership, and original thinking.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop a highly scalable payment system
- Work with fellow engineers, product managers, and business owners in the team to ensure requirements are sound and are met
- System troubleshooting and problem-solving across platform and application domains
- Ensure the availability, performance, observability, scalability, and security of productions systems
- Suggest architecture improvements, recommending process improvements
- Build and maintain tools and processes to ensure high transaction and system integrity.
What we are looking for in you / Ideal profile
- 3+ years of relevant backend engineering experience, familiar with MVC frameworks such as Golang, Ruby on Rails, Laravel, or Java Spring
- BS/MS Degree in any relevant major (ex: IT, Computer Science, etc) OR a proven track record in software engineering
- Expertise in SQL, database design, and tuning of database performance
- Proficient user of Git and GitHub
- Have a passion for solving technical challenges, as this role is highly focused on building frameworks and engineering a reliable backend system
- Love sharing your knowledge and what you think is best for the team, because you believe in elevating everyone in the team, instead of just yourself.
- A self-starter and able to work efficiently without the high management overhead
- Value high standards because you believe by holding each other accountable to a higher standard, is the best way for everyone to grow!
Nice to haves
- Evidence of ability to be able to think from product and engineering point of view
- Audit, accounting, and reconciliation of financial systems at scale
- Managed complex sequences of third party integrations
- Experience in Ruby and Rails
