About the Role
It is said that "You can have data without information, but you cannot have information without data" - a notion that this role embodies. As our Senior Hybrid Researcher (Market & Product Research), you’ll be part of the Driver & Marketplace team that directly pilots Gojek’s business strategy. You'll take the wheel in finding and providing key insights to aid in the development and execution of product design, marketing and communication, and overall operational and business strategies within our respective Driver & Marketplace domain. Collaborating closely with the Product and wider Marketplace teams, you'll help ensure that we are consistently utilizing insightful data and insights to make sound business decisions that impact our driver-partners and marketplace as a whole.
What You Will Do
- Independently manage end-to-end research projects from scoping work, advising on suitable methodologies, designing and executing research plans, and reporting to the stakeholders.
- Be the thought partner of the product, design, data, and service team in coming up with strategies to achieve the group’s objectives.
- Provide analytical support on research projects, using big data to tackle the toughest challenges and enrich the insights to produce high-quality research reports.
- Lead business automation projects to streamline manual processes and automate reporting.
- Engage with key internal and external stakeholders to fine-tune methodology and results.
- Advocate user-centric mindset and metrics to their stakeholders through persuasion, influence, and inclusion to deliver insights that would inspire and spark actions.
What You Will Need
- At least 4 years of proven experience in Market Research/Analytics/Business Intelligence/Data Science role. Experience in an Internet or 'Direct to Consumer' company with large, complex, high-velocity data is a strong plus.
- Well-versed with SQL (primarily analytics function) and Python for analysis in cloud environments (Google Bigquery).
- Proficiency in ETL (extract, transform, load) and data visualization tool (Tableau, Metabase, GDS).
- Effective communicator to both technical and business audiences, passionate about solving problems and delivering insights to better understand our users.
- Possess a relentless need for investigation and data exploration.
- Team leadership experience is a must.
- Openness to learn from and share your skillset with others in the organization.
- Comfortable in communicating and influencing different levels of stakeholders and users in English and Bahasa Indonesia (written and verbal).

Our Driver & Marketplace Research team, a subsidiary of Gojek Research & Insights, consists of product and market researchers based in Indonesia. Working alongside Gojek's product and business verticals, our work revolves around Gojek's driver partners - their experiences using our services, their life cycle, their engagement and retention with the company, and growing our driver partner family, just to name a few things. Our driver-partners are one of the key pillars of our business. From delivering food orders to transporting people and goods from one place to another, there is very little that our drivers can’t do. The gist of our role is to embrace cross-learning and innovative practices by merging qualitative, quantitative, analytical, and business research methods. These efforts work to enhance our business strategy, operational processes, product design, and marketing and communications for our driver-partners.
Our team enjoys what we do since we get to see the impact of our work reflected in our driver-partners' everyday lives on the field. We're a small and tight-knit bunch of nerds who genuinely love diving head-first into a good research and analysis challenge, and end up having a lot of fun together in the process. We're also big foodies, since we're spoiled for choice here in Indonesia (food recommendations are always welcome!).
