About the Role
Fasten your helmet and climb on board if you’re ready to be our Senior Frontend Engineer. This role will require you to work cross-functionally with product, design, backend, and other teams across the region and ship world-class products and features, work with various stakeholders to run A/B tests and experiments, and need the ability to write product specifications and actively participate in the planning phase.
What You Will Do
- Translate the design into responsive web applications using modern frontend technologies
- Build and own the web application for the GoFood product
- Work cross-functionally with product, design, backend, and other teams across regions and ship products and features
- Write, co-write and review design documentation
- Communicate, collaborate and work effectively across cross-functional teams in a global environment
- Debug production issues
What You Will Need
- At least 3+ years of hands-on experience in designing and developing web applications
- Passionate about web frontend technologies, such as React/Vue/Node/Angular, HTML 5.0, CSS3, CSS Pre Processors - SASS/LESS, ES6+ JavaScript
- Implement APIs and SPA for Gojek GoFood team
- Have followed XP practices like Pair programming, TDD, etc
- Have worked previously in a high-traffic web application development environment

Our GoFood team consists of 100+ zealous folks from various disciplines. Our main responsibility is to cater to customers with the best selection of food at the most affordable prices. We also ensure a world-class user experience for our consumers and opportunities for growth for our merchant-partners and driver-partners. How does one achieve this, you may ask? By listening and collaborating diligently with all relevant stakeholders in efforts to solve their daily problems; these problems directly pilot and affect the kind of product and services we create for GoFood.
Our team oversees GoFood’s growth, in particular, which encompasses the growth of our user base and merchant-partner family. Some of the questions we tackle on a daily basis include: “How do we ease the discovery of discounts for users across GoFood touchpoints?”, “How do we personalize discounts for users based on their preferences?”, “How do we integrate ML models into our GoFood business to auto-generate discounts?” and “How do we enable merchant-partners to create discounts with minimal steps while increasing their ROI?”
Every month, our team fields more than 200 million transactions on the GoFood platform. While this may already seem like a massive number, we're hungry for more. We’re concerned not only with the growth of the company, but each other’s personal growth and well-being, too. With WFH becoming more normalized, we've been sharing our favorite ways to stay sane at home. Along with a common drive to use technology to better our community, given the nature of our department, our team bonds over our shared love for good food, easy home-cooking recipes, and the best spots to eat in town.
