JOB SUMMARY
As a Senior Engineering Manager of Platform, you will supervise a multi-faceted skill set of teams to develop an overarching foundation for our Product Development. You will be responsible for creating, planning, and executing a strategic progressive Software Platform. You'll guide team and technical leaders to build motivated and functional teams to design well-architected, sustainable, and performing software. You will achieve so through coaching leaders and teams and working with Product, Quality Assurance, Business, and Development Operations to collaborate on achieving our company goals and vision, drive our product and technical vision and create an environment with such a culture you and our teammates are proud to work on. For this role, you'll require excellent communication and leadership skills, being detail-oriented, strategic and cooperative with other managers, leading by example, and having an aptitude for managing risk.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead, build and coach globally distributed Development Teams to ensure the design and architecture of software with great attention to performance, security, quality, and responsiveness of software applications
- Build, implement and monitor coaching plans and performance reviews of your teams
- Resolve issues brought forth by or to your teams to ensure motivated engineering excellence in both development and delivery
- Drive technical projects and provide leadership in an innovative and fast-paced environment
- Lead a collaborative and progressive rollout of technological advancements for our Engineering Department
- Be a technology evangelist who helps use technology to solve business, customer, and developer problems.
REQUIREMENTS
- Fluent in both spoken and written English language
- At least ten years of proven experience in Software Development
- At least six years of proven experience leading engineering teams, including recruitment, training, engagement, and retention
- At least five years of proven experience designing and building high-performance and complex systems
- At least three years of proven experience working in an intricate Service Oriented Architecture with solid overarching principles
- Strong project management and organization skills
- Expert in the development of distributed web applications
- Expert in at least one programming language
COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGES
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject
- Knowledgeable in at least one agile methodology with the ability to drive its adoption
- Knowledgeable in at least one RDBMS
- Knowledgeable with at least one Caching technology
