About the RoleThe Fraud team builds an anti-fraud system deployed on top of Xfers' payment infrastructure. We work closely with Payments and Identity Platform teams on ensuring that we offer our customers the best-in-class experience while minimizing exposure to fraud. The ideal candidate will be driven to fight fraud and learn techniques and technologies allowing to keep the bad actors away - whether it's updating the current codebase, or deploying a completely new service.
As a member of the newly formed Fraud team, you will work alongside Fraud Analysts on developing and deploying services that help reduce fraud. You should have experience with working on Compliance, Credit, or Fraud-related systems. You are creative, willing to learn, and can adapt your experience and gained knowledge to a new environment - one that comes with many challenges but rewards with solving real-life problems that impact our customers' lives.

What you'll do
- Work with data scientists, data engineers, product managers and business owners to ensure requirements are sound and met
- Build an anti-fraud platform sitting on top of our best-in-class payments infrastructure
- Propose and implement ideas that directly impact platform performance
- Build systems that evaluate businesses for risk and allow taking appropriate actions
What we're looking for in you
- At least 3 years of relevant backend engineering experience, familiar with MVC frameworks such as Golang, Ruby on Rails, Laravel, or Java Spring
- Expertise in SQL, database design, and tuning of database performance
- Deep Knowledge of RESTful APIs
- Proficient user of Git and GitHub
- Evidence of understanding system design and being able to build a new system from scratch
- Evidence of ability to maintain and scale a system
- Interested in risk systems, security and financial crime
Nice to Haves
- Experience with building intelligent, risk decision systems
- Experience in developing on a large legacy production codebase
- Experience with developing and managing MQ or Kafka messaging systems
- Relevant experience in Payments, Retail or Consumer Financial Services
- Experience in development in a zero-downtime CI/CD environment
