About the Role
Touchten is looking for a Lead 3D Rigger to join our Jakarta studio. The Lead Rigger will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day rigging work as well as creating various rigging tools, ensuring that versatile rigging systems are used and maintained. The Lead Rigger will be expected to work collaboratively with various departments to achieve the intended performance requirements and keep current with evolving rigging technologies.
Job Responsibilities
- Rig 3D assets (characters, props, sets, etc.) to achieve the intended animation performance
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and improve rigs in production, while ensuring their stability for the animation team
- Meet the production deadlines by communicating with Producer
- Collaborate closely with the animation and modeling teams to best achieve the intended animation performance requirements
- Actively participate in production-related meetings by offering thoughts and ideas
- Review scripts and animatics for rigging needs
- Develop workflow for new kinds of rig builds and code tools to facilitate the workfl
- 4+ years of experience in episodic television or relevant industry experience
- Proficiency in Maya is a must
- Good understanding of anatomy and articulation
- Demonstrated knowledge and technical skills relating to character rigging and animation, as well as good understanding of animation production pipeline and needs
- Knowledge in Python is required. Proficiency in PyQT/PySide, MEL, and/or C++ is a big plus
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently
- Openness to direction and ability to embrace change
- Strong communication and problem solving skills
- Ability to liaise between multiple departments
- Knowledge in nCloth, nHair, xGen or other simulation systems is a big plus
