POSITION DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a passionate, high-performing individual to join a collaborative program team of Delterra colleagues, external staff, and local partners as an Operational Production and Sales Associate for Indonesia. The Operational Production and Sales Associate will ensure waste can be put to productive use, by creating offtake opportunities that ensure a stable out-flow of waste from the waste management sites, while optimizing environmental impact and revenue for the local communities. The role will be an exciting combination of driving analyses and on the ground implementation, working closely with a wide set of internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities include:
- Working with buyers to optimize and coordinate the sales of organics and recyclables. Initially focused on our 6 villages, where we have already successfully launched our Rethinking Recycling Academy, but role will grow as we continue to scale across Bali
- Experimenting on and creating analysis (e.g., business cases) on production and offtake options that would meet the demand and create opportunities for higher income streams for TPS3Rs
- Designing and leading meetings, workshops or interviews with (potential) partners and villages, to build commercial capabilities and knowhow
- Providing input and support on organizational initiatives related to improving revenues, increasing transparency across the recycling value chain and integrating independent waste banks
QUALIFICATIONS
■ Native or professional fluency in Bahasa Indonesia, fluency in English. Proficiency in Balinese is considered a strong plus
■ Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience, delivering complex implementation projects with diverse stakeholders and ideally some experience in sales and relationship management
■ Entrepreneurial mindset, with a track record of pro-actively creating opportunities and thinking through next steps
■ Track record in building trust-based relationships with diverse stakeholders (e.g., waste workers, local partners or the informal waste sector)
■ Experience in delivering engaging, productive presentations and workshops
■ Demonstrated aptitude in conceptual and analytical problem solving (e.g., distilling themes from interviews, identifying important patterns/discrepancies in data)
■ The ideal candidate also has relevant industry experience (e.g., in sustainability, waste management)
■ Indonesian national willing to be based in southern Bali (see work permit note below)
