Rethinking Recycling Community Capability Building & Education Senior Associate

POSITION DETAILS 

We are looking for a passionate, entrepreneurial, high-performing individual to join a collaborative program team of Delterra colleagues, external staff, and local partners as a Senior Associate responsible for our capability building work Indonesia. This role will be responsible for Delterra’s capability building programme, referred to as the Rethinking Recycling Academy (RRA). The purpose of the RRA is to provide training and knowledge transfer to the communities where we work, to enable them to successfully run sustainable waste management systems.  

Responsibilities include: 

• Build overall strategy for community capability building and education  at scale by identifying current and future knowledge requirements for RRA communities  , and develop targeted learning interventions  
• Manage and work closely with delivery partners-both from government and NGOs) to enable and monitor the effective delivery of community capability building across regencies Oversee the development of education material, working closely with program Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to codify learnings and best practice from our Rethinking Recycling program  
• Manage external content-building partner to oversee content production, provide direction on timeline, and conduct evaluation and reporting;
• Co-lead training delivery of RRA and other related capability building activities to stakeholders with program SMEs and/or knowledge and implementation;
• Lead and supervise workshop sessions and manage subordinate/s on logistics along with our knowledge and implementation team;
• Build and manage assessments to evaluate training impact and coordinate program reporting on capability building activities for funders; 

The role will be based in our office in Sanur - Denpasar. This is a full-time role reporting directly to a Senior Project Leader of the Rethinking Recycling Academy for Indonesia.  

REQUIREMENTS: 

We are looking for someone with a background and passion for capability building and education, with multi-disciplinary problem-solving skills, entrepreneurial spirit, attention to details and willingness to work flexibly in a rapidly changing and expanding team environment. 

Background should include: 

• Native or professional fluency in Bahasa and English (both written and oral) is required. Additional language ability in Balinese is a plus
• Minimum 4+years of work relevant experiences such as curriculum building, education, social capability building, ideally with experience in sustainability topics and/ or waste management 
• Demonstrated experience of building strong, trust-based relationships with diverse stakeholders (e.g., local partners) and track record of pro-actively creating opportunities and thinking through next steps 
• Demonstrated ability in knowledge synthesizing and document building (e.g., distilling and documenting learnings found on ground into conceptual level knowledge that can be taught to others);
• Experience in delivering engaging, productive presentations and workshops 
• Minimum a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Environmental Studies, Urban Planning and/or relevant fields to Development and Sustainability
• Availability to relocate to the program location in Bali.
