The Opportunity
This Research Associate will work with the Global Practice Group to strengthen SecondMuse’s evaluation and data management for Impact Measurement and Management (IMM). The role will also work closely with program teams and Global operations and IT to strengthen our data management capacity. On a day to day level, this also includes partnering with additional global functions like Growth on the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) components of business development proposals, as well as reporting data and metrics alongside Growth and Marketing/Communications.
The initial contract period is 3 months (pre-employee) with the possibility of extending to a 1-year contract (Full-Time Employee)
Essential Functions
- Design data collection instruments, including surveys and interview guides, to gather impact related data, including key company level metrics.
- Oversee the rollout of surveys and other data collection tools.
- Coordinate with program teams for data collection and quality assurance.
- Update and develop Program Theories of Change. And support the development and implementation of - Performance Measurement Frameworks (PMFs) based on those Theories of Change. The PMF development may involve, but not limited to, defining Key Performance Indicators(KPIs) and identifying data collection and analysis plans based on the strategic objectives.
- Perform data management tasks, including data cleaning, organization and analysis using tools such as Salesforce and Tableau.
- Analyze survey data to generate insights and actionable recommendations to improve SecondMuse’s program delivery and embed evidence based approach.
- Prepare research reports, presentations, and visualizations to effectively communicate findings to diverse audiences.
- Support impact research design and implementation needs including, but not limited to the design, implementation and analysis of surveys and interviews, and focus group discussions.
- Additionally, collaborate with the Director of Research Practice on the development of templates, tools, guides, and instructive material to build research capacity of implementers across programs.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in survey design, implementation and data management and analysis
- Experience with Impact Measurement and Management methods and approaches
- Proven experience in developing Theory of Change and managing Performance Management Framework
- Comfort with both qualitative and quantitative research methods and using technology for monitoring and evaluation
- Proficiency in data management tools, such as Salesforce and Tableau is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with many parties in multi-cultural and geographic work.
- Experience with effectively prioritizing and delivering work both autonomously and in a team setting, particularly in fast-paced and changing work environments.
Work Environment
- This is primarily a remote position that will require occasional attendance at onsite events for staff.
- Preferably the candidate will be based in Indonesia
- The employee will report to the Director of Research Practice.
Required Education and Experience
