Are you passionate about sustainability, eager to work in social and environmental impact and ready to play a role in a startup organization? Delterra is a young, fast growing, impact focused non-profit. Our first initiative, Rethinking Recycling, builds integrated waste management and recycling ecosystems in emerging economies in support of circular economies. We are now looking for an entrepreneurial individual with a strong can-do mentality, a highly proactive approach, and excellent communication and coordination skills to support in driving the development of Plastic IQ as our second initiative.
Plastic IQ is an online tool that enables companies to analyze how their packaging strategy affects their plastic and carbon impact and to prioritize circular solutions that reduce plastic use by redesigning packaging for reuse and recycling. The tool leverages industry guidance and data to help users turn their plastic packaging strategy into measurable actions with the ultimate goal of facilitating a data-driven, industry-wide consistent approach to abating the flow of plastic pollution.
A version of Plastic IQ for the United States market was successfully launched in May 2021. In 2022, Delterra will partner with Walmart.org, SystemIQ, the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), and the PlasticIQ catalyst partners, including corporate and non-profit players, to adapt the tool for use in the global South and beyond, starting with Indonesia and Brazil.
