About the Role

If you’re looking to be a part of a dynamic, highly-analytical team and an opportunity to dive deep into projects surrounding Ads and Promo, look no further. This role is part of the broader Gojek Ads & Promo group who manages end-to-end the ads & promo businesses at Gojek. As our Product Business Strategy Lead, you will be responsible for managing a workstream or any project related to Ads & Promo. In this role, you’ll develop both hard skills: product development, quantitative analysis, and presentation design as well as soft skills: stakeholder management and communication. The folks in the Sales team and Relationship Management team will be your companions on this ride. You will contribute to the overall Advertising & Promo Platform (APP)’s business strategy and collectively get us even closer to our Northstar which is to become the go-to (pun intended) platform for digital ads for our merchant-partners.


What You Will Do

  • Lead the decision making on product/feature development for our Ads & Promo business, including: (i) Identify market needs or gaps through insights from research and competitive analysis; (ii) Analyze market size and feasibility for Ads & Promo solutions by calculating potential revenue impact of our publishers’ inventory (publishers can be internal Gojek business unit such as GoFood, GoPay, Transport, ets; or external party such as TikTok, Facebook, Google, etc); (iii) Create necessary documentation (e.g. Business Requirement Document, projections) and (iv) Provide strategic recommendations to our publishers on which product should be prioritized based on business impact and tech feasibility
  • Collaborate with Data and Product teams to incubate new product via experiments and pilots to validate business needs
  • Monitor key metrics, analyze product issues, determine root cause, and establish actionable solutions
  • Create tactical SOPs for the solutions and organize the execution plan to deliver both short term and long term solutions
  • Support the Sales team/Relationship Management team in bringing the Ads & Promo solutions to the market
  • Support the Data team for reporting of the solution performance

What You Will Need

  • Understanding of the value chain of the Digital Ads & Promo business
  • At least 5 years working experience in Tech/Consulting/Accounting/Investing firms, and/or in-house corporate strategy/corporate finance
  • Experienced in building a product strategy and influencing other stakeholders on the implementation of the product without being their direct supervisor (we need your awe-inspiring logic here!)
  • Capable of inspiring and driving a cross-functional team towards a unified direction with a common vision
  • Thrive in fast-paced and dynamic business environments, have a strong work ethic, detail-oriented, and have an ability to handle multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines
  • Self motivation, ability to work independently, eagerness to find solutions as well as having a positive attitude
  • Fluency in spreadsheets (Google Sheets) and presentations(Google Slides; written & verbal)

The Advertising & Promo Platform (APP) group in Gojek is focussed on providing relevant and targeted content for our users, while giving commercial value for our clients, ranging from small F&B merchants to international brand principals. We achieve this dual mission by leveraging our deep relationship with the users, and in turn, building high-return marketing campaigns with exceptional execution processes for our clients.

 Our primary goal is to serve users in the Gojek ecosystem with the most meaningful and delightful ads and promos. To do so, our platform offers a wide range of products to support demand and supply stakeholders. This product portfolio includes Advertiser Tools that let merchant-partners and brands plan, buy, and monitor campaigns, Publisher Tools that enable businesses like GoFood, Transport, and GoPlay to unlock inventory, and Core Platform and Data Tools that power ad serving, targeting and personalization. It is an affordable solution for advertisers of all sizes. We work closely with brands, agencies, merchant-partners and internal stakeholders across all of Gojek’s 20+ businesses.

Our supply also extends beyond our SuperApp, and includes digital out-of-home assets as well as mobile apps and websites within our wider affiliate ecosystem. In the last year, the team has shipped an impressive lineup of products, including the patented GoScreen - the only global transit digital out-of-home product to programmatically serve ads with IAB certified OMSDK’s legitimization. Other products include self-serve advertiser tools for campaign setup and performance management, and an ad server and ML model for relevance and personalization. In the coming year, the team is geared to build the end-to-end DSP and SSP platform along with a Data Management Platform for a complete end-to-end offering for advertisers and publishers in our ecosystem, making it one of the largest ad-tech players in the SEA region.
