POSITION DETAILS

We seek a passionate, high-performing individual to join a collaborative team of Delterra colleagues and delivery partners as Partnership Lead in Indonesia. You will be responsible for initiating and managing relationships with our growing number of partners to scale the impact of our Rethinking Recycling program in Bali, Indonesia. The partnership work will include interactions with various funding partners (foundations, NGOs, corporations and governmental agencies) and other partners, including expansion and knowledge partners (e.g. companies and NGOs in the waste management sector and education sector).

The role will require a high degree of diplomatic skill set, entrepreneurial spirit, a strong can-do mentality, a highly proactive approach, and excellent coordination skills.

Responsibilities include:

  • Fundraising:
    • Engage in overall program scale up and expansion strategy.
    • Design strategies and implement end-to-end process related to program fundraising activities.
    • Identify and build strong, meaningful relationships with funding prospects across Indonesia and South-East Asia as well as globally, to attract, maintain and expand their support and to enable us to hit the revenue targets behind our ambitious goals through, among other avenues, relationship building, proposal writing, and grant and award applications.
    • Engage with private sector partners, Developmental Financial Institutions, national Governments, NGOs, and other donors.
    • Develop and coordinate funding reporting activities both to accommodate internal and external requirements.
  • Other partnerships interests:
    • Define and implement the program strategy for our expansion and knowledge partnerships.
    • Map and orchestrate the collaboration between stakeholders and existing ecosystem to achieve our strategic aspirations (increasing recycling yields, reducing waste diverted to landfills, transforming livelihoods, and increasing the number of citizens that have access to recycling opportunities).
  • Global partnership strategy:
    • Work closely with the global team to define and execute the partnership strategy for Rethinking Recycling program to ensure alignment across the organization's global partnership strategy.
    • Understand existing landscape and define our organization’s key unique values such as brand and reputation, skillset/knowledge to contribute to program collaboration and expansion initiatives.
    • Support co-creation of our value proposition to partners, identify the different types and tiers of strategic partners (and associated targets), define how to identify, and assess potential partners, establish deal flow management, and track a calendar of funding opportunities.
    • Organize and maintain the tools and resources needed for partner engagement. Including the parameters of IP usage, impact sharing agreements, impact reporting protocols and templates, and relationship management best practices.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in building unique and innovative partnerships between private sector (companies) and NGOs and maintaining/managing these partnerships.
  • Proven track records in building trust-based relationships and securing six-digit funding targets from public and private sector in one or more of the following areas:
    • A global NGO environment
    • Social impact and emerging economy contexts, specially building inclusive solutions in partnership with local stakeholders.
    • Start-up background/B2B building strong sales relationships and business development, and/or legal expertise from a start-up environment.
  • Storytelling and communication ability to deliver complex information effectively to a highly diverse set of audiences – particularly context, main points to understand, implications for strategy/project delivery, asks and next steps.
  • Experiences with reporting, public funders compliance and monitoring and evaluation will be a plus.
  • Passion for building warm, long-lasting relationships with our partners, motivating them to maintain and increase their trust, support, and involvement in our program.
  • Passion for contributing to society and making change happen in the environmental and/or waste space.
  • Professional fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English required (both written and spoken).
