A Manager for the SRE team is ultimately responsible for system reliability, developer productivity, and reducing time to market by striving to reduce the technical debt of the services your team supports. We seek candidates who are passionate about system reliability to influence and drive the strategic SRE mission.

As a Site Reliability Engineer working on critical services, your mission will be to ensure our services are fast, highly available, scalable, and able to withstand unprecedented increases in load. The Site Reliability Engineer will be at the heart of solving production problems. Your scope is from the kernel to the application. The position requires the flexibility to take a holistic approach to troubleshoot and the ability to delve deeply into technical details.

The Site Reliability Engineer is co-located with the various application development teams. This ensures Site Reliability Engineer will acquire the necessary domain knowledge to effectively troubleshoot and repair an outage. The Site Reliability Engineer will build automation tools for system health and production acceptance tests to validate production changes. The Site Reliability Engineer will ensure the system is well-instrumented and highly fault-tolerant.

Responsibilities

Recruit, grow and develop the SRE team
Drive architecture discussions and development decisions through the inclusion and participation of the senior engineers on the team
Own the infrastructure engineering and operations processes and procedures
Coordinate with engineering leadership across multiple development organizations
Provide delivery schedules and deliver infrastructure requirements that meet the product requirements on schedule
Be a mentor and coordinator and provide guidance to the SRE team
Build and maintain the infrastructure environment
Use Terraform and Kubernetes to build and maintain Infrastructure as Code for production and non-production environments
Evaluate, deploy, and maintain monitoring tools and build deployment pipelines
Participate in on-call support rotation
Consider security implications in everything

Qualifications

Experience with cloud environment setup and support, Google Cloud preferred
Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker, and service meshes
Experience with monitoring systems like PagerDuty, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, etc
Experience with build and deployment pipelines, Jenkins preferred
Nice to have experience with highly secure environments such as financial or government
Some software development experience preferred

Experiences

5+ years of experience in a site reliability engineering, DevOps, or cloud architect role
At least 1-2 years of experience in managerial position.
