Level Designer - Jakarta

Responsibility :

• Manage the design of your maps through the full cycle of production from conception to finalization;
• Collaborate with the story writers, art directors, cutscene directors, developers, project managers, and other game designers to define the requirements of a map.
• Capture all the requirements from the story, art, and cutscene team to measure the size, effort, and time of making required objects for a map.
• Brainstorm and research to plan the levels guidelines.
• Experiment with map designs and explore opportunities.
• Outline the gameplay experience (layout, measurements, landmarks, decorations, cutscene flow, etc.) in map documentation that will serve as a reference and source of inspiration throughout development.
• Involved in assisting artists and cutscene designers as they translate a vision into an engaging player experience.
• Make decisions to balance artistic aspects with technical constraints to align all technical, design, graphic, accessibility, timeline, cost, effort, and narrative features.
• Find solutions to issues uncovered by playtesters and cross-functional teams related to the map (get to the root of problems to solve them).
• Understand and help tech artists implement the desired levels and objects in the game engine.
• Understand and apply the narrative and emotional ambition for the environments you are responsible for.

• Min 2 years experience in game design in general.
• Proficient with Photoshop and any map editor tool.
• Knowledge in architecture / interior design is a huge plus.
• Proficiency in the Unity engine is a huge bonus.
• Experience in modding games is a plus.
• Fluent in English (Spoken and Written)
