About the Role
If you’re looking to be a part of a dynamic, highly-analytical team and an opportunity to hone your Golang and distributed system skills, look no further. As our Senior Software Engineer for the Experimentation Team, you will be handed the reins to build a Campaign Management Platform. Along with building services to query billions of rows in Google’s BigQuery, you will be in charge of buillding scalable APIs to build user segments and evolve architecture to send millions of notifications through varied streams like Email, SMS, in-app notifications per day. Working closely with the Data Analytics team, Data Engineers, you will get to contribute to the system that runs campaigns efficiently for Gojek. The cherry on top: you’ll get to be a part of a team that works to provide APIs for Gojek millions of users and driver partners to use.
What You Will Do
- Be responsible for the overall solution architecture of the products/services that you will be working on
- Code, design, prototype, perform reviews and consult in the process of building highly scalable, reliable, and fault-tolerant systems
- As our senior technologist continuously refactor applications and architectures to maintain high-quality levels, be actively involved in formulating product roadmap and defining the OKRs of the team
- Continue to stay abreast of the latest technologies in distributed systems, caching and research new technologies, tools that enable building the next generation systems
- Act as an engineer that enjoys writing readable, concise, reusable, extensible code every day
- Discuss, articulate requirements with product management and scope, execute the feature road map
- Participate in team’s hiring process by being a panelist in interviews
What You Will Need
- At least 5-8 years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, testing, and deploying large scale applications, microservices in any language or stack (preferably Golang)
- At least 1 year of experience in leading/mentoring a team of engineers
- Deep knowledge in one or more of these areas: Cloud, NoSQL stores; we use Google Cloud, Kubernetes, BigQuery, Kafka extensively while our primary languages are Golang
- Strong understanding in either of HTTP or gRPC protocol and serialization formats like Protobuf
- Excellent attitude and passion working in a team with willingness to learn
- Experience in building low latency, high volume REST API requests handling
- Experience in working with relational databases (like Postgres)
- Experience in working in distributed caches like Redis
- Experience in containerization technologies like Docker, Kubernetes
- Experience working in any cloud platforms (AWS, Azure etc.) preferably GCP
- Ability to Get Stuff Done!
Bonus Points If
- Experience working in CRM, or API systems at scale
- Worked with Golang, gRPC, Redis
- Experience in NoSQL stores (like Cassandra, Clickhouse, BigQuery)
