About The Role
as a Lead Backend Engineer you will:
- Designing and implementing new features for our backend
- Supporting and maintaining existing codebase
- Writing clean, maintainable and efficient code
- Contributing in all phases of the development life cycle in an agile environment
- Driving continuous adoption and integration of relevant new technologies-

What Will You Do

  • Works on complex feature sets and breaks them down into smaller tasks in order to speed up customer value delivery
  • Having a great balance between pace and perfection. Means that, considering the trade-off between the total time spent in creating the perfect code, versus delivering other efficient products
  • Identify and help other engineers to resolve blockers and support the deliverable
  • Leading the deliverable of an end-to-end complex feature
  • Provide technical advice and involve in technical decisions that impact other teams or company at large
  • Research and propose new technology or engineering practice
  • PM's technical counterpart
  • Defining the technical direction for the team and work effectively in the execution of the team’s goal
  • Promote a positive attitude and de-escalates conflict within the team
  • Make sure our teamwork is always back on track whenever it’s left behind
  • Nurture the team culture. Customer focused; embed a customer focused culture in the team. Motivate and celebrate both big and small wins for the team, and individual team members' achievements. Fosters effective communication within the team
  • A record of creating sweeping improvements in stability, performance, and scalability across major business-critical systems
  • Involve in people development (e.g. hiring, coaching, mentoring, etc), in order to continuously ensure the team capacity--high quality engineers with the right skill set.

What Will You Need

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or min 8 years working experience in Backend programming environment 
  • Strong knowledge of Go programming language, paradigms, constructs, and idioms
  • Familiarity with code versioning tools such as Git, SVN, and Mercurial.
  • Knowledge of common Go routine and channel patterns
  • Familiarity with Go frameworks and tools which includes: Dependency management tools (i.e. Godep, Sltr), Go's template language, Go's code generation (i.e. Stringer), Go web frameworks (i.e. Revel), and router packages (i.e. Gorilla Mux)
  • Experience managing small team, 3-5 engineers
  • Having an agility mindset, working previously with agile development framework are preferred
  • Advanced problem solving skills and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done
  • Excellent in prioritisation
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills
  • Skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams in a matrix organization
