The role for a digital implementation coordinator will be responsible for a wide range of different activities within the digital workstream: 

  • Leading the implementation of our Operations Platform (a digital software to support the operations of waste management facilities) across several facilities in the Denpasar region during their scale up .
  • Training staff on use of the Operations Platform, for both Android and Web and managing change resistance and staff concerns, to make sure the platform is embedded in day-to-day operationse.g. managing customer records, paymentsmaterial flows, etc.  
  • Engaging leadership from both Desa and waste management facilities to secure support and gather input on operational platform benefits, roll-out, and efforts required 
  • Capturing, consolidating and synthesizing user feedback through user interviews, observations and analysis, and recommending changes to the Operations Platform that incorporates this feedback 
  • Coordinating and ensuring synergy of the digital roll-out with other workstreams across Rethinking Recycling to ensure timely delivery of key milestones 
  • Being an active ambassador of digital initiatives (including the Ops Platform and other new tools) to external stakeholders and within the organization  
  • Over time, building digital capabilities in staff across several waste management facilities, so that they can run and manage the operations platform themselves 


We are looking for candidates with waste management, environmental, operational and/or digital experience to oversee the implementation of the operational workstream, reporting directly to the Project Leader. 

Background should include: 

  • Indonesian Nationals with candidate with minimum 2 years of work relevant experiences; 
  • Minimum a Bachelor Education in Environmental Sciences, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant education background 
  • Professional fluency in Bahasa and English (both written and oral). Fluency in Balinese and/or Javanese is a plus 
  • Preferred experience in complex digital build or implementation projects with various stakeholders 
  • Excellent communication skills, including history of establishing credibility with a wide range of stakeholders, and empathy for gathering user feedback  
  • Demonstrated conceptual and analytical problem-solving skills (e.g., proposing digital solutions for complex problems) 
  • Experience in relevant issues (e.g., system roll-outs, technology upgrades, sustainability, community transformation, waste management & recycling,...)
