Indonesia Public Relations Manager

Cookpad is looking for an experienced Public Relations Manager - a creative and dynamic communications expert who can take ownership for our PR function and lead media relations efforts to increase exposure of our recipe service and brand in Indonesia.

This role would be perfect for a natural self-starter, someone who can take initiative and work with minimal direction. You will be prepared to roll up your sleeves and do whatever it takes to land our messages with media across Indonesia.

Reporting to our CEO Office in Indonesia, working closely with Global Communications Lead and Global Marketing, your primary responsibility will be to maximize exposure of our brand and ensure people understand who we are, what we do and why we are so passionate about home cooking and building communities of home cooks. Your own passion for cooking (not just food) will be evident in how you align external and internal messaging and bring the value of home cooking to life, using creative, compelling narratives to connect with the media, our own people and the public.

This is a hands-on, full-time position based out of our Jakarta office with a focus on Indonesia users. Relocation or working remotely from outside of Indonesia is not possible.

What you will do

• Develop and execute external PR strategies to drive brand awareness for Cookpad’s product and premium service subscription in Indonesia.
• Use your creativity and passion for storytelling to come up with unique and exciting angles that capture the attention of media and other external stakeholders
• Take responsibility for PR in Indonesia - work with your existing media network to tell our story and secure online and offline media coverage
• Identify and prioritise top tier media which will drive the greatest impact, including broadcast (TV)
• Create a strong press office function, where Cookpad is the go-to source for information on recipe and cooking trends
• Build and expand your network relations with media, like-minded brands, community, culinary figures and cooking related stakeholders in Indonesia
• Create compelling content for press releases, byline articles and social media posts
• Evaluate opportunities for events participation, speaking opportunities and partnerships on an ongoing basis.
• Work alongside local community teams, providing guidance and direction on PR activities including event planning
• Support with drafting communication responses if any reputational issues arise
• Monitor, analyse and communicate PR results on a quarterly basis

Skills & Experience

• A solid and proven track record in public relations and communications with 5+ years experience ideally in the digital startup space.
• Great verbal and written communication skills to deliver messaging across external media channels and beyond.
• Have a real passion for PR and full understanding for media and customer insights in Indonesia.
• Constantly develop new ideas and measure and improve what you do
• Believe in what we are trying to do and our mission resonates with you
• Be a creative thinker and a problem solver, hungry to take on challenges and learn
• Be proactive, reliable, responsible and accurate with an attention to details
