POSITION DETAILS

 

The Finance and Accounting Senior Associate (Middle Management Level) will provide the following services:

  1. Standing-up, driving and managing internal and partner-facing finance, budgeting, and reporting processes 
  2. Working with the global Delterra and Indonesia operations teams to implement best practices into accounting, finance and reporting processes
  3. Maximize the utilization of Delterra’s accounting software (Sage Intacct) and working with both Delterra’s global operations team and our external tax consultant to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting process.
  4. Lead Audits and ensure compliance of the entity and programs

 

This is a full-time employment role. Work will be based in our office in Sanur - Denpasar and the role will report directly to the Finance Lead at Delterra Global, and manage the finance and operations team in Indonesia. We are looking for someone with a strong Accounting and Finance background, multi-disciplinary problem-solving skills, entrepreneurial spirit, attention to details and willingness to work flexibly in a rapidly changing and expanding team environment.  The Finance and Accounting Senior Associate should be stand-alone and able to work with minimal direction and complete a wide variety of finance and accounting functions. 

 

 

SERVICES

  • Accounting
    • Implement financial record keeping best practices into Sage Intacct
    • Recommend and improve company-wide utilization of accounting system to enhance accuracy and timeliness of reporting
    • Simplify the coding in accounting process (department, cost-center, category and funder code)
    • Perform quarterly financial statement analysis to measure financial health of the program
    • Provide the supporting financial data for funders reports
  • Finance
    • Lead the quarterly budgeting process in internal Indonesia
    • Prepare the budget vs actual analysis
    • Monitor and update the remaining fund availability based on certain criteria
    • Create relevant and timely finance dashboards to create transparency and drive strategic decisions across team
  • Procurement
    • Review payment requests based on the approved budget
    • Approve and execute payments
  • Human Resources
    • Review the payroll calculation
    • Liaise with tax consultant for individual income tax calculation
  • Day-to-Day processes support
    • Maintain business-as-usual internal accounting operations including overseeing and managing consistent data entry, cash flow and expense tracking activities
    • Drive reporting processes including with the support of the global and country operations teams (e.g., monthly expense reconciliation, inventory management and tracking) 
    • Coordinate the build of financial reports with program teams to relevant funders and management.
    • Work with global and country operations teams to discern and implement new processes, procedures or tools that would improve the accuracy and efficiency of our accounting systems
  • Audit and tax support
    • Ensure Indonesia team’s accounting system and records meet audit and tax requirements for both the Indonesia Yayasan and for the global NGO
    • Lead the preparation of  necessary documents and records required for yearly audit and yearly tax report
    • Respond to audit requests from both Indonesia and global auditors, including but not limited to funders financial audit

 

Key Requirements

 

We are looking for candidates with Finance and Accounting experience to support the implementation of the internal and external finance workstream, collaborating directly with the Finance Lead at Delterra Global.  

Background should include:  

  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in finance and accounting role
  • Minimum Bachelors of Education in Accounting, Finance, and/or relevant fields 
  • Professional fluency in Bahasa and English (both written and oral). 
  • Fluency in Indonesia accounting standards for non-profit in Indonesia and preferably globally (e.g., SAK ETAP and IFRS) 
  • Knowledge of Sage Intacct accounting software is a plus
  • Strong Excel analytics skills and experience building financial statements for non-profit organizations (e.g., budget forecasting, finance operations, reporting)
  • Demonstrated conceptual and analytical problem-solving skills (e.g., distilling insights from research and discussions)  
  • Experience managing teams with various background and personalities
  • Self-driven goal oriented and high integrity to stand up for what’s right for the organization
  • Highly detail oriented and organized
  • Availability to relocate to the program location in Bali preferred
