We are looking for a new band member to lead Communications - Corporate, B2B, Consumer & Influencer PR - for Indonesia, a key market in one of Spotify’s fastest growing regions. The successful candidate will be a strategic problem solver and a hands-on implementer, leading proactive and reactive communications across our earned and owned editorial channels. We are also looking for a strong storyteller who can demonstrate both traditional, as well as non-traditional channels to amplify the Spotify brand and apply perception to build FOMO with key audiences in the market.
This role will be a direct report to Spotify’s Head of Communications for SEA who is based in Singapore.
What You'll Do
- Lead both external and internal communications for Indonesia, covering all aspects of our business - including creator (music & podcasts), consumer, corporate, industry (music and advertising), crisis and employee communications
- Regularly engage with and drive buy-in with stakeholders across the business, including leading as trusted communications counsel for our Spotify Indonesia team, and more broadly to the cross-functional SEA and global communications teams
- Manage external agencies (across PR and influencer), setting strategy while ensuring efficiencies of time and resources, and maximising business impact
- Be adept at leading multiple projects and engagements that focus on thought leadership and creating talkability for the brand
- Work across functional partners - global, regional and local - to ensure that messaging themes for Indonesia are consistent across all external facing channels
- Build and maintain positive relationships with key media and influencer contacts in the market, i.e., be the face of Spotify Indonesia to these targets
- Work from and interact with team in-person from our office in Jakarta
- Lead any issues and crisis communications
Who You Are
- You have more than 10 years relevant communications experience in media, digital, entertainment, tech or music industry comms
- Proficient in English and Bahasa Indonesia - outstanding writing and communications skills in both a must
- Proven track record of developing and executing strategic PR & influencer campaigns, with experience with creatively working with homeless/digital media and existing relationships with influencers/KOLs a plus
- Motivated self-starter with hands-on attitude; happy to embrace a bit of chaos
- Ability to multitask and work in a hectic and extremely fast-moving industry and environment, without sacrificing attention to detail
- Collaborative individual who enjoys partnering closely across teams and departments to build and distribute the most impactful communications possible
- Strong project management and agency management skills, with ability to balance short- and long-term priorities
- Ability to translate sophisticated concepts into clear communication
- Strong strategic problem solver and resourceful problem-solver
- Great teammate who thinks locally, regionally and globally
- Ability to work across time zones and travel domestically and internationally
