About The Role

As the Head of Information Security, you will be the strategic and operational leader responsible for defining, driving, and executing Amartha’s overall cybersecurity, data privacy, cloud resilience, and GRC strategy. You will protect Amartha’s digital ecosystem, customer data, and financial technology platforms against evolving threats while maintaining strict compliance with regulatory standards (OJK, BI, UU PDP, ISO 27001/27701).

In this role, you will lead and mentor a multi-disciplinary security organization spanning IT GRC & Data Privacy, Red Team (Offensive Security), Blue Team / DevSecOps, Enterprise Security Engineering, and Data Privacy Specialists. You will serve as the chief security strategist and business enabler, fostering a culture of "security and privacy by design" across product lifecycle, engineering, and business operations.

Roles and Responsibilities

Strategic Security Leadership & Governance

• Define, execute, and continuously evolve Amartha’s overarching Information Security, Cyber Resilience, and Data Privacy vision aligned with business growth.
• Present security postures, cyber risk metrics, threat intelligence insights, and audit readiness updates directly to C-level executives, Board of Directors, and regulatory bodies.
• Manage the Information Security budget, toolstack optimization, vendor negotiations, and strategic resource allocation.

Team Leadership & Capability Development

• Lead, mentor, and grow direct reports and team leads across GRC, Red Team, Blue Team, Enterprise Security, and Data Privacy.
• Build a high-performing, collaborative, and continuous-learning culture that balances high technical rigor with fast-paced business agility.

Regulatory Compliance & Data Privacy Oversight

• Ensure total alignment with local financial regulations (OJK, Bank Indonesia) and data protection mandates (UU PDP, GDPR).
• Oversee the implementation, certification, and continuous audit readiness for ISO 27001, ISO 27701, SOC 2, and NIST Cybersecurity Frameworks.
• Drive the governance of Data Privacy Impact Assessments (DPIA), Records of Processing Activities (RoPA), data breach response protocols, and data subject rights enforcement.

Cybersecurity Operations & Threat Management (Red & Blue Teams)

• Direct offensive security operations, including penetration testing, vulnerability management, threat intelligence, adversary simulation, and Bug Bounty programs.
• Direct defensive security operations, DevSecOps integrations (CI/CD pipeline security), cloud security posture management (AWS/GCP), SIEM/SOC, and incident response orchestration.
• Maintain, test, and elevate the company-wide Cybersecurity Incident Response Plan (CIRP), Disaster Recovery, and Business Continuity protocols.

Enterprise Security & Architecture Control

• Oversee enterprise security architecture, identity and access management (IAM/PAM) governance, zero-trust strategies, EDR/XDR, and endpoint security.
• Champion vendor/third-party security risk assessment workflows to ensure ecosystem-wide security and compliance.

Security Culture & Business Enablement

• Drive company-wide security awareness campaigns, phishing simulations, and specialized training programs for engineering and non-engineering teams.
• Position Information Security as a trusted business enabler that facilitates rapid product innovation safely.

Requirements

• Experience: 12+ years of progressive professional experience in Information Security, Cybersecurity, and Data Privacy, with a minimum of 5+ years in a senior leadership role (Head of InfoSec, Director of Security, CISO, or Senior Security Manager) managing cross-functional security teams.
• Industry Context: Direct experience in the Financial Services / Fintech industry (Lending, Funding, Microfinance, Payments, or Digital Banking) with a strong understanding of OJK and Bank Indonesia cybersecurity and risk governance guidelines.
• Technical & Domain Expertise:
• Strategic understanding across all security domains: GRC, Data Privacy (UU PDP), Cloud Security (AWS, GCP), DevSecOps, AppSec, Red Teaming, SIEM/SOC, IAM, and Endpoint Security.
• Hands-on familiarity with security standards and frameworks: ISO 27001, ISO 27701, NIST CSF, SOC 2, PCI-DSS, GDPR, and UU PDP.
• Deep understanding of threat landscapes, modern cloud-native architectures, containerization security, and CI/CD security controls.
• Leadership & Strategic Thinking:
• Proven track record of translating complex technical security risks into clear business language for board-level and executive stakeholders.
• Exceptional team-building, mentoring, and cross-departmental collaboration capabilities.
• Strong analytical, decision-making, and crisis management skills.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Indonesian.
• Education & Certifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant professional certifications are highly desirable (e.g., CISM, CISSP, CISA, CRISC, CIPP/E, CDPSE, CCSP).
