BukuWarung’s vision is to empower 60mn MSMEs in Indonesia to become financially aware and enable them to manage and grow their business using our technology platform, starting with bookkeeping and digital payments. We are looking for candidates to lead our Finance and Corporate Development function to support our audit and compliance requirements, advise on strategic financial management and lead our M&A and fundraising efforts.

Since we are Indonesia-focused and have team members in India and Singapore, our audit and payroll requirements span across the three countries. Candidates that have cross-border experience in these countries would be preferred.

The role in our view is split across three areas of responsibility - We are looking for candidates that are strongest on 1 and 2, as detailed below.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


Accounting, Tax, Compliance and Audit

  • Oversee the accounting function, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting for all legal entities across Indonesia, India, and Singapore.
  • Manage tax planning, compliance, and reporting to optimize the company's financial position.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors to ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify, manage, and implement measures to mitigate financial risks by enforcing controls.
  • Candidates with experience in conducting internal audits at a business or a statutory audit at a Big 4 accounting firm would be at an advantage.

FP&A, Business Finance, Strategic Finance and Treasury

  • Lead financial planning and analysis activities, providing insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial models to drive business growth.
  • Optimize treasury functions, including cash management and working capital.
  • Manage the company's capital structure, and ensure efficient use of funds.
  • Responsible for providing regular financial projections to support decision-making.
  • Ensure timely delivery of MIS and investor reporting. Track business plans vs actuals, deep-dive on profitability of all businesses, and provide insights to improve performance.
  • Financial operations - Design and implement processes for reconciliation of all disbursements and collections.
  • Mitigate currency and cross-border transfer pricing risks.

Corporate Development: Investor Relations, Fundraising and M&A

  • Lead fundraising efforts, including equity financing, debt financing, and strategic partnerships by fostering relationships with stakeholders and shareholders.
  • Lead financial due diligence and valuation processes for potential acquisitions, mergers, or partnerships. Participate in deal structuring to align with corporate strategy.
  • Lead negotiations, and integration planning.
  • Prepare and deliver investor communications, presentations, and reports
  • Experience to have successfully raised funding is a plus

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, accounting or business administration. An accounting qualification such as CPA, CA or ACCA is a plus, but not a must. Proficiency in local and international accounting standards.
  • Experience in finance leadership roles in financial services, payments companies or Big 4 accounting firms. 
  • Strong knowledge of regulations and trends that apply to fintechs in Indonesia.
  • Excellent control of numbers and eye for detail.
  • Strong strategic thinking and decision-making capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication and proven leadership and team management abilities.
  • Should nurture talent, be responsible for mentoring, build, and manage the function as we scale.
