The Group Procurement Sourcing Manager will help to identify and develop a sustainable category strategy which is closely aligned with business requirements at regional level, focusing on Malaysia, Vietnam & Thailand. The incumbent will also aid in ensuring the deployment of the Category strategy including appropriate, and agreed, modifications to fit the needs of the countries and deliver targeted savings within the region while ensuring no adverse impact on quality and time requirements simultaneously. He / She will also manage a spend of SGD100M for Malaysia, Vietnam & Thailand.
Responsibilities
- Ensure alignment and execution with Senior Procurement management on Category management, especially in Logistics
- Provide regional external supply market knowledge across the Category, focusing on MY, VN, TH.
- Lead the sourcing and purchase of goods and services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets for the region, focusing on MY, VN & TH
- Lead and run regional tender as required
- Lead the negotiation of regional contracts to improve prices and terms of business with suppliers.
- Review opportunities to make business savings utilizing negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods
- Support to monitor and advise market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers.
- Provide external expertise to challenge the status quo
- Support relevant departments and communicate any supply problems which may impact on business operations
- Monitor and advise on any issues which present risk or opportunity to the organisation
- Manage supplier relationship and align with Senior Group manager to deploy a clear SRM Strategy at local or regional level
- Drive an innovative culture of continuous improvement within the supply base
Requirements
- At minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in regional sourcing and buying.
- Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a multi-cultural environment
- Has got a good understanding of managing 3PL would be preferred
- A degree in Purchasing/supply chain and/or Logistic Management
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and G- suite especially in excel / google sheet
- Project team leadership (geographically dispersed and cross-functional with proven results)
- Familiar and comfortable with using ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite / SAP).
- Demonstrate honesty and integrity in running tender projects.
- Able to challenge the status quo across a complete supply chain while keeping the relation at the right level
- Able to develop an account plan with a strategic supplier and track the results with a clear governance
- A self-motivated individual who is able to build plans and team objectives with little day-to-day supervision.
