About you

Aside from thousands of professionally designed layouts, Canva is also home to millions of illustrations and vectors for our users to use in their designs. Vectors play a big part in creating good design. Thousands of new vectors are uploaded in the Canva library every week to ensure we are regularly providing fresh and diverse content for our users. As an illustrator, your task is to ensure that these vectors are high-quality and appropriate for our users and the platform.

What success looks like in this role?
Working with the Creative team to turn around illustration briefs and design content that is high quality, based on the 8 pillars of Diversity & Inclusion, and adds high impact to our growing Canva library.
8 x pillars of Diversity: Age, Race, Religion, Sexual orientation, Gender, Ability, Ethnicity, Language & Race.
What you'll do...
- Produce high-quality, impactful illustrations in line with briefs assigned to you by the Art Director and creative team
- Produce illustrations in line with the brief given by the creative lead
- Curate graphic illustration collections for current design trends
- Utilize your talents to apply various illustration styles across multiple briefs
- Manage and implement feedback
- Adhere to production and delivery timelines
- Help the Diversity team build a library of diverse, inclusive content that is representative of minority groups across the Globe.
We'd love it if you...
- Very strong illustration skills
- Strong in their individual style, but able to execute a variety of illustration styles.
- Passionate about Diversity, inclusion and are sensitive and attentive to the details which surround them
- Ability to adhere to deadlines / be flexible with them changing.
- Experience working with / turning around briefs to a professional level
- Strong communication skills; communicating ideas, flagging issues, managing up.
- Posses a strong understanding of the fundamentals of illustration (visual and technical style)
- Have online portfolio with illustration samples which are beautiful, clean and elegant
- Are skilled with Adobe Illustrator (Adobe Animate is a plus)
- Have your own equipment: Computer/Laptop (with hi-res screen preferable) and high-speed internet
- Experience with Monday & Slack are beneficial
