Engineering Manager - API

The Role
We're looking for a seasoned Engineering Manager to help manage and guide our growing API platform team. As a servant leader, you will use your experience and vision to hire and develop a diverse engineering team, coaching the team to grow in their careers and have an impact on our customers. The ideal candidate would bring demonstrated experience in software engineering, leadership, maturity, and a deep understanding of the software development life cycle.
Responsibilities
- Manage a talented team of engineers and be responsible for the design, development, quality, and delivery of initiatives for the team.
- Champion engineering excellence, establishing metrics and processes for continued assessment and improvement of engineering quality.
- Work with, and influence, product, stakeholders, and other teams to scope requirements and align responsibilities.
- Partner with other engineering managers and senior leadership to maintain a collaborative engineering and product organization.
- Drive technical review of design documents, prioritization of development roadmap and fixes.
- Mentor and develop your direct reports for higher impact and teamwork.
- Work closely with recruiting to expand the team, including sourcing candidates, interviewing candidates, and onboarding new employees.
- Do whatever it takes to make Xendit successful.

- You have been an Engineering Manager with 3+ years of management experience.
- You have managed a team of 7+ individual contributors reporting to you.
- You are knowledgeable with REST, API design patterns, and microservices.
- You are a people leader who deeply cares about your team members and prioritizes kindness, creativity, and impact.
- You have a relentless focus on end-user and creating customer-centric solutions.
- You have a proven ability to build a team, develop people, and influence cross-functional teams and senior management.
- You have high-level technical proficiency with our tech stack including Node.js, Kubernetes, AWS, etc.
