You’ll be a leader of a small (and mighty 💪) product design team to help us deliver transparent products and a pleasure to use. Boundaries between teams are permeable, so you will work closely with other teams on a broad set of design challenges and have a significant impact on creating software solutions.
What will you do:
- You’ll manage and mentor a team of Designers, User Researchers, and Content writers for our regional organization and report directly to the Chief Product Officer.
- Impact (Driving value for the business and users by delivering on OKRs or high-priority initiatives.)
- Drive successful execution and high-quality work across all product development teams within multiple business units.
- Hold oneself, their directs, and cross-functional partners responsible for hitting audience-level (SMEs, Investors, Partners, etc.) and company-level OKRs.
- Establish a consistent track record of improving customer engagement metrics.
- Expertise (Excellence in the core skills of design and management. Develops design and/or management expertise in others.)
- Use product strategist skillset to coach and mentor ICs, managers, and directors to think about strategy, systems, interaction, and visual design challenges through the lens of impact on users and the business.
- Ensure that the quality of craft coming out of their team is inspiring internally and externally, as evidenced by qualitative and quantitative feedback
- Hold deep understanding of all the key levers of the business, how they work together, and what that means experientially for users.
- Collaboration (Effective teamwork within one's discipline and with cross-functional partners, clear written and verbal communication, and elevating the strengths of others.)
- Highly effective manager of managers. Can coach and grow managers into directors. Takes swift, decisive, and wise action when facing manager performance issues. Wisely and appropriately utilizes skip-level relationships.
- Shift the culture of their cross-functional area through long-term, multi-faceted strategies and tactics.
- Attract, hire, and develop senior staff-level designers and managers.
- Leadership (Driving alignment across teams, direction setting and strategic influence, ability to spot opportunities and rally others towards tangible results. Doing the important, non-project-related work of scaling our org, creating culture, and living our values.)
- In-depth knowledge of all areas of FS’s business, its competition, the outlook for our market, our strategic opportunities, points of differentiation, and competitive advantages.
- Truly a company-wide business leader. Regularly contributes to decisions, strategy, and execution in ways that are far afield of UI/UX design.
- Influences the thinking of the leadership team through sound reasoning, data, positive working relationships, and succintly articulated arguments.

- Prior experience as a leader/manager of a design team is essential
- At least 6 years of product design experience at a product-driven company
- BA/BS/MS degree in graphic design, human-computer interaction, computer science, or related field.
- Experience with design tools (we use Figma).
- A design portfolio that demonstrates design principles and prototyping for web and/or mobile platforms
