Responsibilities

  • Monitor, operate and troubleshoot problems in running databases
  • Monitor and uncover unoptimized database queries and propagate those insights into actionable for the engineering and product team to prioritize fixing.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team of experienced engineers to achieve targets and deliverables from stakeholders. This includes roadmap prioritization and task definition writing.
  • Maintaining and managing database scalability and performing capacity planning, ensuring schema designs are scalable to deal with large transactions in the next 2 years.
  • Strong understanding of database design, backup, security, and disaster recovery
  • Work closely with the Information security and infrastructure team in ensuring that we are adopting security best practices.
  • Meticulous and ability to identify errors and potential risks
  • Handle operational day-to-day tasks like being on-call, handling alert and incident
  • Evaluate new technology options to improve your Database stack.

Requirements

  • Min 4 years of engineering experience
  • BS/MS Degree in any relevant major. (ex: IT, Computer Science, etc) OR a proven track record in Database Administration, DevOps, or System Administration
  • You will need to constantly upgrade your skills and update your knowledge along with the latest developments in the world of Database Administration, DevOps, and System Administration
  • Desire to get into the engineering management track
  • Knowledge of MYSQL or PostgreSQL
  • Knowledge of Redis
  • Knowledge of Oracle DB is a big plus
  • Knowledge of scripting or coding is a big plus
