About the Role
If you’re looking to be a part of a dynamic, highly-analytical team and an opportunity to dive deep into projects surrounding data privacy, look no further. As Data Privacy Analyst, you’ll take the wheel in building privacy culture for GoTo Financial. Along with privacy compliance, you will help us drive adoption of privacy technologies and be in charge of overall data protection. Working closely with the Product, Engineering and Legal team, you will get to manage projects pertaining to Data Privacy Initiatives. The cherry on top: you’ll get to be a part of a team that works to protect customer, employee and partner’s data.
What You Will Do
- Conduct privacy assessments for application/product as per project plan, perform regular data discovery scans for data sources to identify traces of personal data and maintain cookie compliance implementation for our websites
- Develop and maintain critical documentation required for ongoing assessment of privacy risks, including Data Inventories, Business Information Flow Maps, ROPA, etc. and manage operation tasks related to Data Subject Access Requests & managing Privacy Risk Register
- Stay on top of privacy trends and emerging regulatory compliance requirements in APAC (e.g., country-specific data privacy laws etc.) that could potentially impact GTF’s business
- Build tools, frameworks, paved roads and guardrails for facilitating privacy best practices and maintain documentation with FAQ library for customer questions about GTF privacy practices
- Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Information Security, Product, DPO-Legal and IT to provide guidance on privacy policies and controls including: effectiveness, implementation and automation
- Research, build and maintain tooling for testing and continuous monitoring of privacy controls across multiple platforms, and enhance the privacy engineering roadmap Work with vendors and internal team for data privacy awareness campaigns and contribute to our Security and Privacy Awareness program
What You Will Need
- At Least 3+ years of experience in the various security disciplines (e.g., Data Security, Privacy program and DLP solutions, infosec) with experience in supporting large organizations with focus on Privacy and Data Protection
- B.Tech. or B.S. or M.S. or M.Tech degree in Information Security, Computer Science with CIPP/E, CDPSE or other industry recognized security certification(s)
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to Privacy, including but not limited to GDPR, PDPA and the NIST standards or equivalent
- Comprehensive understanding of data protection methodologies, technologies, and best practices, and working experience with Data Discovery tools in an enterprise environment
- Ability to work collaboratively within a complex, global organizational structure with teams across diverse functions and culture
- Strong analytical, investigative, writing skills and attention to detail. Be able to solve problems with system-based approaches, set priorities and be flexible in a changing environment
- Self-motivated, able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong hands-on working experience on Data Privacy tools like BigID, OneTrust, etc is preferred
About the Team
Our GoTo Financial Data Security and Privacy Team is a new team being assembled within our brand new GoTo Financial and GoTo Group. Our ecosystem processes millions of customer data that needs to be kept strictly confidential to prevent any issues such as data breaches from occurring. Thus, our team’s main responsibility is to oversee and manage the platform’s data security and privacy. We work in close collaboration with various Information Security teams within the GoTo Group who are equally responsible for ensuring security remains a top priority within our ecosystem.
As a newly formed team, we are constantly tackling new challenges and adapting to changes that come with rapid scaling, some of which include the deployment of data security policy and compliance with the regulations for GoTo Financial entities. We bounce ideas and opinions off of each other during team meetings, learning and growing in our data security and privacy expertise along the way.
So, that's a snippet of our work. Although, that is not the only thing that we enjoy doing together as a team. Turns out, we have been enjoying WFH more than we thought we would 😬. Off-hours, you’d probably find us watching the latest blockbuster movies, whipping up a delicious meal in the kitchen, or going for a run around the neighborhood.
