Responsibilities

• Conceptualizing and generating infrastructure that allows big data to be accessed and analyzed.
• Building secure and cost-optimal data pipeline infrastructure using cloud computing
• Modeling data pipeline infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code practice
• Reformulating existing frameworks to optimize their functioning.
• Testing such structures to ensure that they are fit for use.
• Preparing raw data for manipulation by data scientists.
• Detecting and correcting errors in your work.
• Ensuring that your work remains backed up and readily accessible to relevant coworkers.
• Remaining up-to-date with industry standards and technological advancements that will improve the quality of your outputs.

Desired Experience

• A minimum 5 years in data engineer, software developer, or similar.
• Experience in building ETL pipeline
• Expert proficiency in Python, C++, Java, R, and SQL.
• Familiarity in big data and analytics technology such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Presto, etc.
• Familiarity with cloud computing big data and analytics services in AWS or GCP such as Amazon RedShift, Amazon EMR, Amazon Athena, AWS Glue, Google BigQuery, Google DataFlow, Google Cloud Composer.
• Familiarity in Infrastructure as Code
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Bonus Points if...

• Experience working with complex organizations, particularly within Telco space
• Experience working in the consumer edu-tech space
• Experience working with regulators/ governmental bodies
• Experience working with Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud Platform
• Experience with Machine Learning, Data Science & Statistic
• Have certifications in data engineering such as AWS Certified Data Analytics or Google Cloud Certified Data Engineer.
