About the Role
If you’re looking to be a part of a dynamic, highly-analytical team and an opportunity to dive deep into projects surrounding funding and capital market strategy, valuation analysis, and trends in the industry, look no further. As our Corporate Development and Investor Relations Associate for the Corporate Office, you’ll have a front seat to GoTo’s strategy formulation and some of the most important decisions of the organization from a corporate development standpoint, and will be exposed to a myriad of situations, not just in financial analysis, but also in deal structuring, M&A, forming strategic partnerships, investor relations and more. The cherry on top: you’ll get to create leverage for our product teams to capture opportunities and establish our competitive edge, all whilst protecting the interests of GoTo and our stakeholders.
What You Will Do
- Provide financial and strategic analysis related to the Company’s funding and capital markets strategy, M&A, investment opportunities and strategic partnerships
- Develop financial models and valuation analyses that help guide the decision making process
- Conduct industry and market research related to trends, risks, opportunities and competitive landscape
- Participate in deals end-to-end, including strategy development, deal negotiation & structuring, due diligence and coordinating with finance, legal, tax and other departments to ensure seamless deal execution
- Create investment memorandums and related presentations for senior management, board and shareholders
- Participate in dialogues with blue chip local and international investors, as well as sell side analysts
- Prepare materials for earnings releases, investor / analyst day and investor presentations
- Prepare regular and ad-hoc investor and management reporting
What You Will Need
- At least 3 years of work experience in private equity, corporate development, investment banking, management consulting and/or related experience
- Good grasp of accounting, finance, and legal/tax considerations in M&A and corporate finance
- Solid analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills with high level of attention to details
- Works well under pressure to achieve tight timelines while producing high quality outputs
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask
- Ability to manage confidential and highly sensitive information with the highest levels of discretion and professionalism
- Strong communications and collaboration skills. Excellent verbal and written fluency English. Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia is a plus.
About the Team
Our Corporate Office team consists of members of the Corporate Development and Investor Relations team, Legal team and the Partnerships/Business Development Team. Spread across Jakarta and Singapore, we hail from several geographies and, together, form a like-minded team of ex-investment bankers, consultants, advisory professionals and more. We oversee all things related to corporate needs and work to drive initiatives to capture opportunities and enforce GoTo's competitive advantage, all whilst protecting the interests of GoTo and our stakeholders. It’s our job to ensure that GoTo's strategy formulation, capital raising, acquisitions, investments and investor relations runs seamlessly. The Corporate Development team is one of the most active in the region, having recently completed the Gojek x Tokopedia merger, acquisition of Moka, investment into Bank Jago and LinkAja, and sale of Thailand business to AirAsia. We have also formed numerous JVs and partnerships with strategics including Google, Alfamart, and Bluebird, amongst others.
Working from home has been a strange time for a lot of us, so our team has been taking time on our calls to trade advice on the best ways to keep sane with this new work set up.
