AYANA Komodo is looking for a dedicated and detail oriented Commis to support our culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking menu items in accordance with recipes and kitchen standards, while maintaining high levels of hygiene and food safety. You will assist in organizing mise en place, ensuring all ingredients and equipment are ready for service, and supporting smooth kitchen operations. Your discipline, teamwork, and attention to detail will contribute to delivering consistent quality and an exceptional dining experience for our guests.
- Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with recipes, yield guides, and kitchen standards.
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and proper food handling in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Set up and organize workstation (mise en place), including tools, equipment, and ingredients for service.
- Coordinate with kitchen team and supervisors to ensure smooth operations, including reporting shortages and supporting service flow.
- Manage storage, minimize food waste, and perform opening and closing duties according to kitchen procedures.
- Diploma in Culinary Arts or relevant vocational training.
- 0–2 years of experience as a line cook or in a similar role, preferably in a 4/5-star hotel or restaurant.
- Basic knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen operations (food handling certification is a plus).
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Good teamwork, communication skills, and basic English proficiency.
