RESPONSIBILITIES/ ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Chief of Party will bear primary responsibility for overall leadership, technical oversight, planning, implementation, compliance, and quality control e for the Ber-IKAN Activity. S/he will serve as the primary point of contact to USAID and contribute to successful, positive relationships with the client and other key stakeholders, this includes, but is not limited to:
- Oversee project implementation including leading work plan development, and financial planning and monitoring with the operations team.
- Lead and supervise staff, consultants, and partners in the design, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation of the project.
- Foster and maintain effective relationships with USAID, the Government of Indonesia (GOI), national and regional government counterparts, and other key stakeholders, including project partners, private sector and non-profit organizations, and beneficiaries.
- Coordinate with the Resonance home office to ensure project compliance with contract requirements, USAID rules and regulations, and Resonance policies and procedures.
- Represent the project with other donors, government officials and other key stakeholders, including establishing relationships with relevant in-country and regional programs.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Advanced degree: international development, natural resources management, marine and coastal studies, fisheries management, or related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in sustainable fisheries management, coastal resource management and/or coastal livelihoods.
- Experience on similar development programs in Indonesia.
- Experience liaising with high-level representatives from public and private sectors and USAID and other donor-funded activities and engaging with local organizations and stakeholders in Indonesia.
- Demonstrated leadership in effective project management, technical and analytical skills, and personnel management, particularly in a remote environment.
- Proficiency addressing factors that maximize gender and social inclusion, MEL, and communications.
- Excellent speaking, reading, and writing ability in English.
PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Professional competency in Bahasa Indonesia strongly preferred.
- Experience as a USAID COP or DCOP preferred.
TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS:
The employee must be able to travel domestically within Indonesia up to 15% for work assignments.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position operates in a professional office environment, and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

As a part of the responsibilities for this job, the employee is required to communicate, detect, converse with, discern, convey, express oneself, and exchange information orally and in writing with others. The employee must be able to remain in a stationary position, sitting at a desk for prolonged periods, move or traverse inside the office and facilities; operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, place, detect, or position computers and other office equipment, such as a calculator, copy machine, furniture, and computer printer. The employee must be able to make substantial repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and fingers. The employee must be able to lift and move up to 15lbs at times.
