Our Carrier Partnerships Director will be responsible for defining, fostering, and maintaining strategic relationships and initiatives with Telesign’s suppliers. This person will serve as a critical subject-matter expert on emerging trends, technology, and compliance requirements in the messaging space across the Americas. While the primary focus for this role will be maintaining strategic partnerships, this person will also lead key initiatives and projects related to corporate strategy, operations, and product design. This individual will be on the Americas Messaging Operations team, reporting to our Head of Messaging Operations for the Americas.

About the Role

This role is a critical position supporting the development of Telesign’s Americas Messaging Operations presence. Our commitment to ensuring individual career objectives align with the company’s growth strategy means this position will focus on future proofing messaging quality across the Americas, specializing in 10DLC and other emerging A2P trends. This role will collaborate cross-functionally across the organization, supporting product, engineering, marketing, sales, finance, and legal teams as we evaluate, explore, and execute strategic partnership opportunities.

This person will help refine Telesign’s overall vendor partnership strategy in the Americas.  With the strategy defined, this individual will build key relationships with identified partners that include negotiating, executing, and managing the partnership relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate to define objective measurements of success for vendor relations and performance, and periodically report to the executive leadership team to ensure transparency and top-down engagement
  • Understand the interconnected messaging landscape across the Americas, identify strategic opportunities and threats, and identify net-new or underleveraged resources
  • Maintain high-profile relationships with strategic partners, including mobile operators, direct connection aggregators, working groups, and industry peers
  • Use a systematic approach to establish deep relationships with strategic partners, including understanding their strategy, key decision makers, organizational structure, technology solutions, and roadmaps
  • Define a strategy of when to on/off-board suppliers to reduce the cost of sales and improve Telesign’s competitive cost structure
  • Deep understanding of vendor agreements, invoice line items, and ability to work with both Legal and FP&A teams to streamline auditing or dispute processes
  • Publicly demonstrate domain expertise and represent Telesign in working groups and at industry events

Essential Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience working in the messaging industry, with a focus on integrating technology with business and product development
  • Detail-oriented with great organizational skills and comfort with ambiguity
  • Extensive industry experience, deep relationships, and the ability to navigate the complex A2P messaging landscape with a focus on the Americas
  • Comfortable with high-stakes negotiations and describing the methodology and outcomes to executives
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with an ability to be understood effectively by business leaders, executives, product managers, and engineers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong preference for prior experience in a Product Manager role
  • Technical savvy and experience with APIs are a plus
  • Higher education with a business focus or technical degree is preferred
