About the Role
This role will provide you a unique opportunity to build & shape the strategy at the largest payment gateway in Indonesia - Midtrans. You’ll have a unique opportunity to transform the landscape of a merchant payment company and take part in the success story of GoTo Financial in conquering the payment ecology in Indonesia. As the main Business Analyst, you will assist everyone in the tribe in driving data-driven strategies and playing an important role in the new data-driven operating model, where you will focus on the relentless execution of experiments to drive optimization and instrument data for fast feedback loop. You will also assist the Head of Strategy in business case analysis, strategizing and prioritizing projects in driving business growth and delivering merchant-centric experience through analyzing merchant’s behavior and listening to the voice of merchants.
What You Will Do
- Support the Card Present/Offline team in developing the product, ops, and sales strategy for Midtrans
- Conduct research and analyses of operational effectiveness and processes for stakeholders
- Assist Head of Function in developing reports to present company’s strategies and performance in monthly cadences with senior leadership
- Discover business problems and growth opportunities in the business and merchant metrics by exploring business data, transaction data, merchant activity and needs, and actual merchant insights
- Validate solutions and other related hypotheses through robust experimentation and taking a statistical approach
- Track metrics performance, work with the analytics team
- Develop business cases and provide ad-hoc support/analysis on critical projects/initiatives
What You Will Need
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline from a reputable university
- Minimum of 6 years experience in a strategic data analytics role (experience in management consulting / corporate strategy can be a strong plus)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, and challenging work environment
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions
- Prior experience/proven ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- High level of proficiency using Excel, PowerPoint
- Proficiency in PowerBI and SQL is a strong plus
About the Team
Our Payments team oversees GoPay (Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing consumer payments and financial services app), as well as Midtrans (one of Indonesia’s largest payment gateways), and Spots (Indonesia’s largest offline network for payments).
Our Merchant Payments team is part of the larger Payments platform and consists of passionate engineers based in Jakarta, Singapore, and Gurgaon. We run Southeast Asia’s leading financial platform for online and onsite merchants. It's our job to oversee all things related to empowering business owners and creating a seamless and efficient payment gateway solution. We also take the time to understand our merchant-partners daily concerns and experiences in order to cater our services to resolve any hurdles and expand their operations. The big question that we’re always trying to solve is: How can we better improve our digital experience for our merchants-partners.
We've helped simplify payments for over 300,000 merchant-partners in our respective regions - from retail stores in town to your favorite Gorengan and Martabak stalls. But, the growth of Payments does not stop here. We are hungry for more. We intend to become the largest payment and financial services group in Southeast Asia. We are working on several projects now, including one about enhancing direct interaction with our merchant-partners of a variety of businesses and their customers.
