AVP Data Engineering

Your main duties in flying with us:

• Define and set the data standards and data engineering strategy across the organization
• Worked closely with business stakeholders, data science and product teams to deploy reporting and analytics solutions leveraging tools such as BigQuery, Google Data Studio, and Tableau
• Build the data ingestion frameworks for each data source and work with the data leaders and engineering team to enable consistent data ingestions and access.
• Lead the efforts with our digital platform managers to ensure our data flows and API’s have defined and consistent frameworks.
• Work with our business intelligence and data science team, and other related stakeholders to deploy technologies or tools and enable information access capabilities.
• Work closely with business end-users to implement and support data platforms using best-of-breed technology and methodology
• Actively coordinating project between internal resources and third parties/vendors for project execution
• Collaborate with Finance to ensure the budget and financial performance of the department aligns with corporate objectives.
• Design and deliver robust and scalable data solutions to meet business needs and take operational considerations into account
• Lead, influence and contribute to the technical capability of our products to ensure they are best fit for our customers
• Actively analyze day-to-day system operational (SLA, delivery quality and time, and efficiency), resolve, reduce and prevent day-to-day operational issues and give advisors to end business users
• Provide leadership, mentoring, and coaching. Manage and coordinate strategic direction for staff. 
• Attract, retain, develop, and motivate top talent by reviewing individual development plans and providing performance feedback.
• Create a high-performance team that has a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and is focused on business outcomes
• Be a thought leader and organizational change agent who can help foster a data-driven culture while simplifying the data ecosystem and improving the organizational speed-to-insight

Mandatory belongings that you must prepare:

• At least 10 years of experience in data engineering.
• At least 7 years of experience in building and leading Data organizations with expertise in building large-scale enterprise data platforms
• Experience establishing frameworks for data quality, data governance, stewardship and metadata management  
• Experienced with the Systems Development Life Cycle implementation methodology (SDLC) and/or agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban.
• Good team player, with strong analytical skills and enjoy complex problem solving with innovative ideas and transformational initiatives
• Strong communication/people skills required to interact with data analysts, business end-users and vendors to design and develop solutions.
• Good at working with details and is meticulous for operations
• Solid understanding of Project and Program Management processes
