API/Backend Engineer (Java)

Successful candidates will need strong communication skills as they will be actively involved in discussions and instrumental in bridging the gap between product and technology, as well as coaching, mentoring, and guiding junior engineers in best practices/solving technical challenges.

Job Description

As a API/Backend Software Engineer, you will implement and deploy API solutions while demonstrating expertise in a number of areas including cloud computing, API design and development, Public and Private API design and development, cloud messaging, highly scalable distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Build robust and scalable software in Java and/or Go.
• Help improve our code quality through writing unit tests, automation and performing code reviews.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team of Backend Software Engineers, Product Managers and SRE.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas to our technology, algorithms and products.
• Work with the product and design teams to understand end-user requirements, formulate use cases, and then translate that into a pragmatic and effective technical solution.
• Dive into difficult problems and successfully deliver results on schedule.

• 4 years of relevant industry experience
• 3+ years of experience providing end-to-end integration solutions development
• Experience with identifying API from business processes design and implementing API
• Working knowledge of API design and development on the cloud.
• Working knowledge of API security certification, authentication, authorization, IP security setup, and end point configuration
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred:

• Working knowledge of one of the API platforms such as Amazon API Gateways, Google Apigee, MuleSoft Anypoint API, Axway, or similar platforms
• Experience in comparative analysis of different API products available in the market
• Certification in one API product
• Experience in planning and managing API Integration development- lifecycle processes.
• Experience in technology evaluation, scalability analysis and tool selection efforts for Technology Integration projects.
• Experience in ISO 27001 and/or PCI DSS.
• Experience in payment system.
